My Name is… <3 Stephanie Nelke, Once Born a Papke <3 I am…A mother first and foremost; a JBO traveling baseball mama for my 10 year old son Jaidyn Douglas; a traveling golf mama for my 12 year old son Teegan James; an Umpire’s worst nightmare when it comes to awful calls; a competitive fisher-woman; a big game hunter; a psychology major; an Oregon Ducks fan; a Seachickens fan; a wine snob; and a Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused and neglected children of Marion County.
I like it when… I am successful at one of my Court cases and I’m able provide the children, who have been abused and/or neglected, a place to call “home.” It’s not an easy job, but I can’t think of another job that would be as rewarding. If I had to describe it in one word, I’d say it’s bittersweet.
One thing I wish the Northwest would share with the world is… This cold rainy weather so we can get some of that warm sunny stuff people are hogging! :-)
One thing I wish the world would share with the Northwest is… My passion and love for children. This doesn’t apply to the Northwest, because I can’t follow rules and instruction for the life of me, but more for the entire Nation. Anyone and everyone can have kids, but it takes a special person to be a parent.
Something I have coming up is…My son’s first JBO tournament! Super ecstatic!
This is exciting because… I’m a sports guru! I’m more likely than not about as competitive as my children are simply just watching from the sidelines. *Fist pump action right here!!* (For the record, I can’t stand Jersey Shore.)
