Putting out music can be an expensive endeavor for artists who are still learning to create a revenue off of their craft. Music videos, photography, and press kits can get expensive–especially since most artists are lucky to have any money left over for promotion after their project gets sent to press.

Ryan Laws and Josh Michael, aka Einstein, have developed Hot Boxin Music, a program developed as a way for up-and-coming artists to get exposure without spending the kind of money professionals generally asked. For $150 an artist is able to record a verse to a beat produced by Einstein, a video interview and a short music video created for their verse. The duo also offers additional services such as photo sessions and biographies for press kits.

The focus around the project is building a community. Everyone who runs through the process gets posted on their website, www.hotboxinmusic.com.

They recently posted their first music video for Garbage Man out of Salem after hosting a release party in Lake Oswego at Players.

People who know Ryan Laws know that he is not at all shy about self promotion. Being a part of what he is promoting has advantages.

We’re looking forward to seeing more work as the project progresses.
