There is no place I’d rather live than the NW. Born and raised in Oregon, after briefly considering a move to LA out of high school, I haven’t considered living anywhere else in the world. However, there are a few things this region is missing…
Thanks to everyone who helped out with this list. Let us know what we missed.
1. A Professional Basketball Team in Seattle
Moving on from the NBA’s decision to not relocate the Kings, Chris Hansen and his investment group are now looking into getting an expansion team in Seattle. The Seattle Sharkfaces has our vote for new team name.
Macklemore sent out a tweet displaying his disapproval of the Thunder, aka the ZombieSonics, playing his song:
RT @coug123: So apparently the OKC blunder are using @macklemore ‘Can’t hold us’ as a song to hype up the crowd in their arena <-OH HELL NO!

2. A Theme Park
We have a few, but none for people to get excited about. (Maybe something in Washington, where people would be able to smoke while waiting in line…?)
3. Warm Beaches
We get about one month per year to enjoy a sunny beach, but even then the water is still cold. I really do love our beaches and oceans, but having a warm ocean to swim in without flying out of state would be a blessing.
4. The NBA Playoffs
Being in the Playoffs used to be a given for Portland. Those days are gone. Also, see Number One.
5. In-N-Out Burger
Posting pictures of In-N-Out burgers seem to be a requirement of every trip to California for many Northwest residents. We love their food. Wonder what the hold up is on getting a franchise.
6. Dave And Busters
Before Portland starts screaming at me, I know we have Ground Kontrol and it is amazing. BUT sometimes I get drunk and get an urge to play newer games. Sorry, not sorry.
7. More Sunshine
The rain keeps the region beautiful, but it also is a key ingredient to depression.
8. Drive Thru Convenience / Liquor Stores
It rains almost every f#$@ing day here. Getting out of the car to grab a pack of smokes and a fifth of Jameson gets annoying. (I was recently informed that there are a few drive in convenience stores in the NW, but we without a doubt need more…)
9. More Delivery Options
Delivery options come down to pizza or Chinese food in most parts of the NW – and past 10pm it’s at times hard to find anything. Like In-N-Out, this is something relocated Californians quickly miss after making the move.
10. Accents
We don’t have accents! Imagine how much more entertaining our days would be if we had Jersey or British accents.
Remember, NW <3 you.
