After announcing Thaddeus at the 10-spot, the next rapper up for debate was Seattle’s Neema aka Mr 10K. Despite meeting him a few years back at the NxNW Showcase at SxSW, I honestly – as a Portlander – had no idea that he rapped. The guy has mad influence, and I always saw him as a behind the scenes kind of guy, producing and hosting parties. Naturally, I just came right out and said it.
After some discussion, I dubbed Neema the Dr. Dre of the Northwest as his talents and reach impact rap more than his actual raps. The panel decided to push Thaddeus to #9 and drop Neema to #10 (where he also placed last year). Watch the drama unfold below!
