The Blazers season did not end the way any of us wanted it to. Fortunately the Winterhawks picked up the slack and will begin playing in the WHL Championships tomorrow night, playing the Kootenay Ice. The winner of this series will represent the WHL at this year’s Memorial Cup. The last time the Winterhawks won the Memorial Cup was in 1998.
Comcast Sports announced today that they will “provide live HD coverage of the first four games of the Portland Winterhawks’ run at the Western Hockey League Championships.” They will also broadcast Game 7 if necessary.
I have never personally been a hockey fan, but there is no better time than now to start.
