Oakland’s Occupy Wall Street protest over the weekend ended with over 400 people being arrested after, according to police reports, a group of protesters burned an American flag, forced their way into city hall, and broke a vending machine and light fixtures. Three cops and one protestor were injured.

A statement released by the Oakland Police Department said, “Officers were pelted with bottles, metal pipe, rocks, spray cans, improvised explosive devices and burning flares…The Oakland Police Department deployed smoke, tear gas and beanbag projectiles in response to this activity.”

MotherJones.com reports that many people arrested were journalists “just doing their job.”

Arik Armstead, one of the nation’s top rated defensive lineman, will be playing Football and basketball for the Ducks next season. Armstead was the 61st ranked player in his class, and the 6th ranked player in his position.

18-year-old Anthony Harris was arrested after attacking multiple civilians in downtown Portland on Saturday morning. Harris was apprehended after a valet from a steakhouse in the area flagged down police and said Farris attempted to steal a cash box from him.

Farris was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on numerous assault and harassment charges. His bail was set at $277,000.
