My Name is… That One Kid Knu

I am… A rapper, producer, songwriter, engineer and clothing designer. I strive to make the best music I can and make my music relatable to the people of my city, where as most rappers from Portland try to take the style of a different city, there’s alotta cats that try to hard to be something that they’re not. I just stay myself, and express my lifestyle, and life events through my music, and hope that people enjoy it.

I like it when… My fans reach out to me and tell me their honest opinions on different songs, or tell me how my music has effected their lives, its honestly and amazing feeling.

One thing I wish the Northwest would share with the world is… each other’s music, people out here just really focus on themselves and I think that’s a big reason why no one has ever made it big from Portland. If everyone shows love to each other I think that eventually someone will make it.

One thing I wish the world would share with the Northwest is… the musical spotlight, I feel that a lot of the cities that get attention for music are burnt out, and I think Portland has so much talent out here that if we get the chance someone will definitely make it from the town.

Something I have coming up is… Damn I have 3 projects that I am currently working on. I am working on 2 mixtapes with my group, The Rareness. Our second mixtape, “Extra Rare Vol.2” is slated for release in early May. We also have a tape we’re working on with a producer out in Florida, Tyler On The Beat, he is producing the whole tape, there’s going to be some pretty amazing pieces of music on that tape. And then finally I am working on my solo mixtape entitled “Mind Over Matter” which is set to come out in mid July. I also have a bunch of songs on the way that feature some of the best artists in the city (Aaron O’bryan Smith, T.Soprano, Cassow & more). As far as shows go on 4/20 my boy Yung Mil and I have a big show at Venue 126 in downtown.

This is exciting because… It’s all high quality music and most of it is free. As far as the features its exciting for me because these are artists that I have the utmost respect for and its nice to see that I am gaining respect in the city.
