Yesterday, we revealed the top 2 vote-getters for Juice Radio‘s Freshest In The Northwest. Not everyone was happy with the resulting list.
Even as a panelist, I won’t pretend that I agreed with how it all turned out, but I am pleased with the result and I respect the fact that my opinion isn’t the only one worth posting. But… My opinion is worth posting.
Before the fan votes were counted, each panelist submitted a list with their top 15 Northwest rappers. As discussed yesterday on Twitter, I’ve agreed to release my initial list. Funny reading it now, just over a month later, because I’m not sure I’d create the same list.
It’s a good thing that Northwest hip-hop is that dynamic these days. 5 years ago, I’m not sure I could have even found 15 rappers worth listing. Now, it’s a struggle to cut my list of respected artists down to 15, let alone ten. So if you (or your favorite artist) didn’t make the list, don’t feel bad. You probably made someone’s list – and hey – there’s always next year.
