If you’re not familiar with Mic Capes yet you need to climb out from under that rock. After last year’s release of his debut project, Rise & Grind, Mic has been making moves. He’s performed with his group, The Resistance around town and continues to prove his worth as a stand-out NW artist. Now the North Portland rapper is dropping the video for Jansport, the first single from his upcoming sophomore project, Concrete Dreams. We know you’ve been waiting.

Production on the track is courtesy of Brxtn Chase. The video was shot by Sam Lingle and features talented dancer and choreographer, Latya Caples. The juxtaposition of a sax player and images of North Portland accurately reflect Cape’s style and ability to musically relay stories of life in the ‘hood. It’s always dope to see shots of familiar places around town like City Food Market and the hoop courts in “the Ville” as well. All in all, the video offers great visuals to the song and literally paints a picture of the life of the up and coming artist. Check it out for yourself and look out for Concrete Dreams, coming in the near future.
