Alright, Portland listen up. As one of the newest members of the WOHM team, my goal is to provide a platform for striving talented artists who not only represent the Northwest but Portland specifically. As many of you know the city of roses is known for its hipster/indie rock scene while the hip-hop and R&B market often gets over looked. With so much talent in the town, I know its only a matter of time before someone opens the gate to the industry. Having said that, I came across this track a few days ago and was immediately re-inspired for our city.
I first heard of the 19 year old producer/singer/songwriter TYuS last year featured on a few tracks with Portland to LA transplant, Cassow. But it wasn’t too long before I found that he had a cult following of his own on Sound Cloud. With over 100k + plays on almost all of his tracks, the very talented youngster has already taken the internet by storm. If you haven’t caught on yet, I think its time you pay attention. Portland’s on the way.
