With a title like Grand Opening / Grand Closing, I have no choice but to think of Jay-Z. Illidelph’s Assad is no Jigga clone (in fact, his flow is slightly reminiscent of Freeway’s) but the beat – a collaboration between Frank Dukes and Portland’s own Trox – certainly has that oh so Golden Era Roc-A-Fella feel to it.

Asaad does his thing over the clean instrumental, explaining how he opens up and shuts it down, and the Sunday drop has been gaining mad buzz. Shouts to the Northwest connect. Keep pushing the culture. #OutHere
