NE Portland rapper Swiggle Mandela graduated from based swag raps to based conscious raps, and the progression has been a joy to watch.
The new Totem Ent-directed video, 40 Acres And A New Car, is transcendent in it’s artistry, drawing watchers in with striking visuals and riveting scenes that accompany Swiggle’s heavy lyrics. The full video – which plays through like a very short movie – runs only 2.6 minutes (including the credits) and left me wanting for more. I definitely could have gone for another verse on the track, but settled for playing it a few times in a row.
Really good stuff from an evolving rapper with a high ceiling, and whoever styled the shoot really killed it. Some dope cameos in there as well. Check it out!
