No lie, the Roman Numerals are getting tricky as we approach our 50th consecutive month of TheTHESIS, but what a problem to have right?
As the summer winds down and the temps cool, we’ve got a veteran lineup of emcees ready to heat up the stage tonight at Kelly’s Olympian with new music and heavy vibes.
Front Page Music’s first artist, Brookfield Duece, took a break from preparing new music and flew back in town for the end of summer to wreck shop again; the Oakland native has never failed to impress with his THESIS appearances, and the possibility of label owner Damian Lillard popping in to check on talent always raises the energy in the building.
Raquel Divar is a THESIS favorite and with an upcoming collab EP titled The Reign featuring production by Cory Oh, we had to get a sneak peek! Her dark, lyrical style over Cory’s bass heavy, grungy beats always leave rooms rattling and jaws agape.
Andre Waymond has upgraded everything this year, from his sound to his moniker, and his upcoming tape takes us down the emotional path of a man facing real life demons. If you liked what he did earlier this year, you’ll love this. He’s really stepping into his own.
Swiggle Mandela is a force all his own, but we needed to borrow his swag for a night to really set it off. Heavy lyrics, hella attitude, and a true hood following set Swiggle apart from his peers, and we’re glad to have him.
If you planned on an R&B night, sorry to disappoint. Tonight’s all about big beats, hard lyrics, and fly rappers. Verbz, of course, will be there to feed you the latest in hot danceable raps and keep the show moving as he does so well.
The exclusive Barcardi Bar will also be set up in the venue, so keep an eye out for drink specials to be announced on social media.
Of course, we also want to thank our press sponsors, including Portland Mercury, XRAY.FM, and Vortex Music Magazine for all of their help with promo each and every month.
$10 at the door, 21+. Be there or… actually… just #NeverMissTheTHESIS!
