WOHM WOHM! Thaddeus David Moor Gang

Few artists have been busier than Moor Gang’s Thaddeus David. Entering at #6 on the list, the panel showered Thaddeus – last year’s #10 – with praise and co-signed his this year’s higher ranking. Consistency, productivity, visibility, authenticity, clout, a dope mixtape and a strong NW presence were all traits discussed while describing the Seattle rapper. It was also discussed how despite being an original Moor and constant representative, Thad’s movement at times feels more independent than say a Nacho, Jarv, or even Gabby.

The discussion got a bit hectic again as Horizon broke out the Henny, but eventually we came to the elephant in the room: Luck One. The panel mulled on it a bit but ultimately decided that as much as we liked Luck moving up the list based on his skillset and cultural influence, his absence ultimately limits his reach. Myself and Swerve admitted that we listen to Thaddeus more than Nacho and feel his music is well suited for the masses. “All-occasion Thaddeus David” is what I call him, and his single, Everything, is making waves on the in clubs and on radio as you read this.

I had the pleasure of hanging with Thaddeus over the 4th of July holiday. I must concur that he lives the life he raps about, and in my few interactions with him, he to be an all-around solid guy. Voting him to halt my own’s brother’s rise was tough, but I honestly feel that TH is making all of the right moves right here in the NW.
