It’s crazy when you start seeing an artist reach the potential you’ve seen in them. It was probably mid-2013 when I first started keeping tabs on ROBy (then known as Yung Rob) after getting a tip from Kevin (of V1Creative) that the kid was nice. For me, the Portlander hit his stride in Spring ’15 with the Inflicta-produced single Move On, but a live performance I saw him at soon thereafter felt lacking. Fast forward a few months, and ROBy grew into his potential nicely. His project, The Red Carpet, is flawless. He hooked up with young veteran DJ Rockwell and turned his live show into a work of art – as evidenced at the aggressively sold out Thesis show in January that left fans from as far as Seattle standing in line.

His latest release, a video for his single Around It, was debuted by our friends over at Vortex Magazine and the fanfare has been amazing. ROBy has quickly become one of the most exciting and unique artists in Portland, and I for one am happy to see his growth. Here’s to continued success. #OutHere
